Sincona sale 78, lot 45

This specimen was lot 45 in Sincona sale 78 (Zurich, October 2022), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$480 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA | Russian Empire and Federation | Peter I. 1682-1725, Altyn 1711, Red mint. 25 roubles according to Petrov. Very fine." This denomination was struck irregularly 1704-18 and then no more were made until 1840. This type of 1711-12 is rare.

Specification: 0.84 g, 0.729 fine silver, this specimen is 0.82 g.
