East Caribbean States 1981 10 cents rev DSLR.jpg

The East Caribbean States formed as a loose union of island nations in the Caribbean, all of which are former members of the British Caribbean Territories prior to its dissolution in 1965. The current full membership states are Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Coins of the East Caribbean States continue to mix with those of the older British Caribbean Territories in circulation.

Shown is a 1981 ten cents. The type was struck 1981-2000. It was replaced in 2002 with an updated bust of the queen.

Recorded mintage: unknown plus 5,000 proofs.

Specification: 2.59 g, copper-nickel, 18.06 mm diameter.
