This specimen was lot 70280 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $456. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. Sovereign, 1908-M. Melbourne Mint. NGC MS-61. Quite shimmering and glistening, this specimen would appear to be a bit conservatively graded in the opinion of this cataloger." This date, from a type struck 1902-10 at Perth (shown here), Melbourne and Sydney, is common.
