Norway 1878 2 kroner
This specimen was lot 1890 in Jean Elsen sale 149 (Brussels, December 2021), where it sold for €120 (about US$163 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NORVEGE, Oscar II (1872-1905), AR 2 kroner, 1878. Très Beau. (kingdom of Norway, Oscar II, 1872-1905, silver two kronor of 1878. Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1878, 1885-94, 1897-1904. It was accompanied by a silver fifty øre and one krone of similar design. Many dates are very scarce.
Recorded mintage: 300,000.
Specification: 15 g, 0.800 fine silver, 31 mm diameter.
