Künker sale 352, lot 1782

This specimen was lot 1782 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €7,500 (about US$10,438 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, Maximilian I. (IV.) Joseph, 1799-1806-1825. Dukat 1821. Isargold. GOLD. RR Etwas berieben, feine Kratzer, vorzüglich. Erworben 1937 bei der Firma Julius Jenke, München. (Germany, kingdom of Bavaria, Maximilian IV Joseph, ducat of 1821, gold from the Isar. Very rare, polished, fine scratches, extremely fine. Bought from Julius Jenke in 1937.)"

This ducat honored gold panned from the Isar River. Other ducats for 1821 include KM 703, 710, 711, 712 and KM 714.
