This type was struck 1897 only for Colombia at the Brussels mint, bypassing the usual sources of Bogotá and Medellin. It is accompanied by a similar twenty centavos, also common. Another civil war erupted soon after, interrupting production of silver ten centavos until 1911.
Recorded mintage: 2,642,000.
