Egypt reconstituted itself as the Arab Republic of Egypt in 1971 (1391 AH), abandoning the title 'United Arab Republic'. Coins were reissued from this year onward with the modified title. The example shown is an aluminum-bronze 1 piastre. It commemorates the 'Corrective Revolution' of Anwar Sadat's administration that took place from 1970-1971.
