This specimen was lot 4156 in Sincona sale 95 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$347 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Bern, Stadt und Kanton, Vierer 1771, Bern. FDC. (Switzerland, canton of Bern, vierer of 1771, Bern mint. Uncirculated.)"
This type was struck in billon 1762-66, 1769-71, 1774-81, 1785-97 and in gold 1766 only. In Germany, the convention thaler was 120 kreuzer; in Switzerland, the thaler was 160 kreuzer, making this coin 1/320 thaler.
