This specimen was lot 74862 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $1,920. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Franc, 2001. Paris Mint. NGC MS-67." This NCLT commemorated the departure of the franc as it was superseded by the euro. The coin was struck with a wavy surface.

Recorded mintage: 50,000 in silver plus 5,000 in gold.

Specification: KM 1290: 17.8 g, 0.900 fine silver, 33 mm diameter; KM 1290a: 26.1 g, 0.750 fine gold, AGW: 0.62935 oz. Edge lettered "2001 RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE · STARCK · LIBERTÉ · ÉGALITÉ · FRATERNITÉ".
