Sincona sale 80, lot 3275

This specimen was lot 3275 in Sincona sale 80 (Zurich, October 2022), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"SPAIN | Königreich, Felipe VI. seit 2015. 200 Euro 2015, Madrid. Auf 70 Jahre Frieden in Europa. Nur 2'500 Exemplare geprägt. Polierte Platte. Im Originaletui mit Zertifikat. (kingdom of Spain, Philip VI, 2014-, two hundred euro of 2015, Madrid mint, on seventy years of peace of Europe. Only 2,500 pieces struck, Choice Proof, In original box with certificate.)"

While celebrating the end of World War Two may seem hackneyed and repetitive--Spain has issued several coins on this topic--surely, peace and quiet cannot be too often honored.

Recorded mintage: 2,500 proofs.

Specification: 13.50 g, 0.999 fine gold, 30 mm diameter. This specimen is 13.50 g.

Catalog reference: KM 1340, Fr-453.
