This specimen was lot 3700 in Sincona sale 83 (Zurich, May 2023), where it sold for 3,100 CHF (about US$4,149 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "CZECHOSLOVAKIA, Republik. 2 Dukaten 1978, Kremnitz. 600. Todestag von Karl IV. Siegel der Universität Prag. Schl. 82, Fr-21. Selten. Nur 4'898 Exemplare geprägt (Czechoslovakia, republic, two ducats of 1987, Kremnitz mint. 600th anniversary of the death of Charles IV. Rare. Only 4,898 pieces struck. NGC MS68)." This type was struck in 1978 in the waning days of the communist regime, which collapsed in 1989-90. The SCWC includes this with its Unusual World Coins.
