Czechoslovakia 1978 10 dukatu
This specimen was lot 3697 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 9,500 CHF (about US$12,714 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "CZECHOSLOVAKIA, Republik. 10 Dukaten 1978, Kremnitz. 600. Todestag von Karl IV. Siegel der Universität Prag. Selten. Nur 3'489 Exemplare geprägt NGC MS68. Prachtvolle Erhaltung (Czechoslovakia, republic, ten ducats of 1987, Kremnitz mint. 600th anniversary of the death of Charles IV. Rare. Only 3,489 pieces struck, Magnificent condition)." This type was struck in 1978 in the waning days of the communist regime, which collapsed in 1989-90. The SCWC includes this with its Unusual World Coins.
