This specimen was lot 918 in Jean Elsen sale 122 (Brussels, September 2014), where it sold for €80 (about US$123 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANCE, Napoléon Ier (1804-1814), AR demi-franc, 1808 K, Bordeaux. Très Beau. (France, Napoleon I (1804-14), silver half franc of 1808, Bordeaux mint, very fine.)"

This type was struck 1807-08 in France with sixteen different date-mintmark combinations, of which the 1808-A is the most common. This date is priced about triple the common date.

Recorded mintage: 363,263.

Specification: 2.5 g, 0.900 fine silver, 18 mm diameter, decorated edge, designed by Pierre Joseph Tiolier.
