Revision as of 23:00, 1 October 2023 by LatinKing2020 (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - " .900 fine" to " 0.900 fine")
This type was minted in Guatemala in large numbers 1894-97 with help from the Heaton mint in Birmingham, England. It is the last in a series of seated liberty designs beginning in 1872. They were struck to displace the Chilean pesos and Peruvian soles counterstamped in 1894. There is an 1896/5 overdate which receives a slight premium in the SCWC.
Recorded mintage: 1,403,000.
Specification: 25 g, 0.900 fine silver, .723 troy oz ASW.
Catalog reference: KM 210.
