Peru 1923 sol

This sol was struck in Lima and Philadelphia in 1923 for Peru. This billon coin replaced a .900 fine silver one sol struck in large numbers 1865-1916. This billon type was issued until 1935, when all silver was removed from the coinage.
Recorded mintage: 2,369,000 (Philadelphia).
Specification: 25 g, .500 fine silver, reeded edge.
