This coin was lot 8565 in Ponterio sale 150 (Los Angeles, August 2009), where it sold for $4,600. The catalog description^[1] noted, "GERMANY. Westphalia. 10 Taler, 1813-B. Conservatively graded. NGC MS-62." This type was struck 1811-13 but all the dates are rare. In 1813, the Napoleonic puppet state also struck five thalers, twenty franken and forty franken in gold, all rare. When Jerome, Napoleon's brother, started showing signs of thinking independently, he was deposed and the kingdom annexed to France. At the Congress of Vienna, the area was restored to its former lords, Hannover and Prussia.
