The first specimen was lot 21777 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Anna Rouble 1737, Hedlinger type, Bust right/Crowned Imperial eagle with date, VF. Slightly mottled, gray patina, with a few minor contact marks. A very scarce variety of the Anna Rouble." The second specimen was lot 24504 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $552. The catalog description[2] noted, "RUSSIA. Ruble, 1737. Kadashevsky (Moscow) Mint. Anna. ANACS EF-45 Details--Corroded, Cleaned. Variety with 9 pearls in hair and brooch on chest. A gunmetal gray specimen with some noted issues, but otherwise pleasing and emanating from the later years of the decade-long reign of Anna." Two types are noted for 1737; the other (Dav-1674) has no "X" on the eagle's tail on the reverse. Both are scarce. Collecting Russian coins is made more confusing by the plethora of competing catalog numbering systems.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.

Specification: 25.85 g, .802 fine silver, .666 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: Diakov 13, Petr 3 (10), UZD 0730, Dav-1673; KM-197; Bit-135.
