Great Britain 1721 shilling KM-539.1
This specimen was lot 3089 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN: George I, 1714-1727, AR shilling, 1721/18, first bust, roses and plumes in wrong order in angles, a few light obverse scratches, very rare overdate, key variety, Very Good, R4 (Bull), ex Michael More Collection." This design was used on the shilling 1715-23 with several subtypes. This one has roses and plumes on the reverse; the issue of 1721 was divded between this and KM 539.2, with a plain reverse. Confusingly, the photo shown in the SCWC shows the reverse with "SS - C" (KM 539.3).
