This specimen was part of lot 2442 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), which sold for $42. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA: Republic, 2-coin mint set, 2006(k), struck at the Kolkata Mint, commemorating the 50 years of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), including 50 (silver) and 5 rupees, sealed in original booklet with paper sleeve; set of 2 coins." This NCLT was struck for a topic only a government bureaucrat could love. The specification given below is for the version inserted in the mint set; the circulation issue was 6.03 g, stainless steel, but the SCWC does not distinguish between them. The set also contained a fifty rupees (KM 352). As of July 2025, 5 rupees = US$0.058.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 9 g, copper-nickel, 22.8 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 354, KM-MS74 (set).
