This specimen was lot 11256 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €900 (about US$938). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 1/2 Öre, 1600. Stockholm Mint. Karl (IX) Riksföreståndare (1598-1604). NGC AU-55. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1600-02 while Karl was lord protector of Sweden, having ousted his Catholic nephew Sigismund. In 1604, Karl would claim the throne for himself as Karl IX. One riksdaler was 48 öre.
