The specimen shown is from a type struck in Rome for Italy 1951-2001. It superseded a larger aluminum coin (KM 90) struck 1946-50 which is now quite scarce in nice condition. This date has a low mintage but enough were saved that it is not rare.

Recorded mintage: 11,000,000.

Specification: 1.6 g, aluminum, plain edge, 23.3 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 93, Gig-259.
