Saxe-Neu-Weimar 1684-ICS 6 pfennig
This specimen was lot 56558 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $90. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxe-Neu-Weimar. 6 Pfennig, 1684-ICS. Wilhelm Ernst. PCGS AU-58." Saxe-Neu-Weimar was one of the splinter states erected during one of the many divisions of Saxony in the seventeenth century. The line went extinct in 1741 and passed to Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. This was the first issue of this denomination since 1653, and the last until 1737. It is not priced in the SCWC.
