This specimen was lot 43198 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $7,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "ISLAMIC KINGDOMS. Almoravid. Dinar, AH 537 (1142/3). Seville (Ishbiliya) Mint. Ali Bin Yusuf. NGC MS-63. A lovely Mint State example, offering a bold strike and glittering luster." Other mints included Tlemecen, Badajoz, Valencia, Algeciras, Granada, Malaga, Murcia, Almeria and others. Ali Bin Yusuf (r. 1106-43) was the fifth caliph of the Almoravids. His attacks on Toledo, Barcelona and Coimbra, tho unsuccessful, represented the maximum extent of Almoravid domination in Spain. Their empire collapsed in 1147 under Almohad attacks.
