This specimen was lot 3172 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $115. The catalog description[1] noted, "GUATEMALA: Republic, AR quetzal, 2007, Ibero-American Series-Olympics, mintage of only 3,000 pieces, scarce, PCGS graded Proof 69 DCAM." The issue of the regular brass quetzal (KM 284) seems to have been skipped in 2007.
Recorded mintage: 3,000.
Specification: 27 g, 0.925 fine silver, 40 mm diameter, reeded edge.
Catalog reference: KM-290.
