Steve Album sale 54, lot 470

This specimen was lot 470 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $2,160. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAQ: Mahmud I, 1730-1754, AR 5 para, Baghdad, AH1143, some slight weakness, VF, RR, ex Kenneth A. Bovenkamp Collection." This type is also known struck in copper. Ottoman issues for Iraq are all rare.
