This specimen was lot 890 in Stephen Album sale 47 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $390. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUGHAL: Humayun, 1530-1556, AR light shahrukhi, Qandahar, AH955, bold date, retrograde, at lower right of the obverse, EF-AU, RRR. Same dies as Zeno-276099. No examples of this date on CoinArchives and just one on Zeno." The shahrukhi was originally a silver coin minted by Shah Rukh of the Timurid Empire (r. 1405-47) and was adopted by the early Mughal Emperors (Babur, Humayan and Akbar). It was eventually superseded by the rupee.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: originally 4.5-5.0 g, silver, this specimen 3.90 g.
