This specimen was lot 29073 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $3,172.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Franz Joseph I gold 4 Ducat 1911 MS63 NGC, Vienna mint. A wonderfully lustrous example with fully-defined features and a considerable amount of reflectivity in the fields. Extremely faint hairlines are visible on both the obverse and reverse, however, the coin has an all-over, attractive glow." This type was struck 1872-1915 in substantial numbers but the 1915 restrike is most commonly seen.
Recorded mintage: 23,000.
