Peru 1851 4 reales rev DSLR.jpg

This specimen is one of a series struck 1840-56 at the Lima mint. The date is listed in the SCWC as common, tho all Peruvian minors are scarcer in nice condition than the catalog values would indicate. Assayer MB is recorded for 1838-58. It was legal tender in the United States until 1857 for 50¢.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 13.54 g, 0.903 silver, 0.3931 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: KM 151.3.
