Goldberg sale 93, lot 2408
Mexico G93-2408r.jpg

This specimen was lot 2408 in Goldberg sale 93 (Los Angeles, September 2016), where it sold for $329. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico: Mexico State. 10 Centavos, 1916 NGC MS63 BR. Tenancingo. Revolutionary coinage. Without Dot in C. The solo highest grade coin in NGC Census. NGC graded MS-63 Brown." This type, accompanied by copper two, five and twenty centavos, is somewhat common but normally comes wretched. A variety with the "¢" filled in exists but is scarce.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: copper, 4.27-5.64 g, 25.25 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-690.1; GB-260.
