This specimen was lot 20272 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 500 Dollars, 2017. From a mintage of only 99 pieces. Includes case of issue and certificate of authenticity serial #1. Brilliant with hard mirror fields and frosted cameo devices." The leaflet included with the box commented, "Swaying from the branch of a strong, well-rooted tree, the leaf of the sugar maple (Acer saccharum) is everywhere associated with our country. Beautifully recreated on the reverse of this 5 oz. pure gold coin, it's a fitting ambassador for its strength and distinctive appearance, and reminds us of the natural beauty of the country we call home."

Recorded mintage: 99.

Specification: 155.52 g, 0.999 fine gold.

Catalog reference: Fr-unlisted; KM-2547.
