Sincona sale 82, lot 1790

This specimen was lot 1790 in Sincona sale 82 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 1,400 CHF (about US$1,874 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted, "George III. 1760-1820. 1/2 Guinea 1768, London. Second laureate head. Sehr selten (Very rare). NGC AU58. Tied with one other for finest certified by NGC." This type was struck 1764-74.
