This specimen was lot 1115 in Sincona sale 38 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 3,200 CHF (about US$3,838 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Anhalt-Bernburg, Herzogtum, Victor Friedrich, 1721-1765 Dukat 1761. Harzgerode Münzmeister Johann Gottfried Siegel. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Germany, duchy of Anhalt-Bernburg, Victor Frederick, 1721-65, ducat of 1761, Harzgerode mint. Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"
This type is listed for six dates ranging 1730-61 and is fairly scarce but not rare. This issue of 1761 has the motto "SENIOR DOMUS" added, making it KM 54 instead of KN 11. It is one of three different ducats issued from this locale during the eighteenth century.
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, 3.45 g.
