This specimen was lot 2824 in Sincona sale 77 (Zurich, May 2022), where it sold for 5,250 CHF (about US$6,373 including buyer's fees). Extraordinary condition.)"</blockquote> This type was struck 1806-08 but all dates are rare. The portrait is of Louis Napoleon, Napoleon's brother, installed on the throne in hopes that his regime would enforce Napoleon's trade restrictions. Louis quickly came to side with the Dutch attitude towards smuggling and he was evicted in 1810 and the country annexed to [[France]]. This specimen was lot 2824 in Sincona sale 77 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 5,250 CHF (about US$6,373 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"THE NETHERLANDS | Kingdom of Holland. Lodewijk Napoleon, 1806-1810. 2 Dukaten 1808, Utrecht. Ohne Doppelpunkt nach FOEDER. Sehr selten. Nur ca. 6'220 Exemplare geprägt. NGC MS63. Überdurchschnittliche Erhaltung. (kingdom of Holland, Louis Napoleon, 1806-10, double ducat of 1808, Utrecht mint. Very rare. Only c. 6,220 pieces struck. Extraordinary condition.)"

This type was struck 1806-08 but all dates are rare. The portrait is of Louis Napoleon, Napoleon's brother, installed on the throne in hopes that his regime would enforce Napoleon's trade restrictions.
