This specimen was lot 2495 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $114. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUGHAL: Jahandar, 1712-1713, AR rupee, Sahrind, AH1124 year one (ahad), couple minimal scratches, still very attractive and a rare mint for this short reign, VF, R." This type was struck at many mints during Jahandar's brief reign. This mint is scarce, struck the one year only. Wikipedia comments,
"Mirza Mu'izz-ud-Din Beg Muhammad Khan (1661-1713), better known by his title Jahandar Shah (lit. 'The Owner of the World', was briefly the ninth Mughal emperor from 1712 to 1713. He was the son of emperor Bahadur Shah I, and the grandson of emperor Aurangzeb. Jahandar Shah was the first puppet ruler of the Mughal dynasty, having been placed on the throne by powerful noble Zulfiqar Khan. His reign was short and turbulent, lasting less than a year. He was deposed by the Sayyid brothers and succeeded by his nephew Farrukhsiyar."
