TThis specimen was lot 75694 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Rial, MS 2535 (1976). Tehran Mint. Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. PCGS MS-64." This was issued for the fiftieth anniversary of the Pahlavi dynasty. It is common. The shah was overthrown in 1979 and he died the next year. The Islamic revolutionaries who seized control promptly abandoned his MS calendar.

Recorded mintage: 61,945,000.

Specification: 1.74 g, copper-nickel, 18.3 mm diameter.
