This specimen was part of lot 40781 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $5,875. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "SOUTHERN RHODESIA. Six Piece Proof Set, 1937. NGC PROOF-66 to PROOF-67. KM-Ps2. 6 piece in set. Includes: Penny to Halfcrown. All pieces lightly to moderately toned. The silver pieces have attractive blue and red highlights on the legends and fields. From a mintage of only 40 sets." Rhodesia, named after diamond magnate Cecil Rhodes, was created a self-governing colony of Britain in 1923. Coinage commenced in 1932. The colony was federated with Northern Rhodesia in 1956 but is now Zimbabwe. This type was struck 1937 only.
