Toned PROOF."  The type was struck in 1935 for the silver jubilee of George V's reign. The regular issue crowns of 1927-36 were minted in very small numbers and are rare today. Sterling silver (.925 fine) coinage ceased in 1919.

The first coin was lot 9428 in Ponterio sale 150 (Los Angeles, August 2009), where it sold for $718.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Crown, 1935. Raised edge lettering.
