This specimen was lot 75225 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "PHILIPPINES. 50 Piso, 1981-FM. Franklin Mint. PCGS PROOF-68 Deep Cameo. Celebrating the Papal Visit to the Philippines. A charming piece that celebrates the visit of John Paul II to the Philippines, this charming representative is beautifully preserved and very much alluring." The Franklin Mint nade a number of NCLT's for the Philippines before quitting coinage production in the mid 1980's. This one is seldom seen and was accompanied by a gold 1500 piso.
