This specimen was lot 811 in Jean Elsen sale 112 (Brussels, March 2012) where it sold for € 280 ($438 including buyer's fee). The catalog description[2] noted,

"LIEGE, Principauté, Gérard de Groesbeeck (1564-1580), AR rixdaler, 1572, Hasselt. Droit : L'écu de l'évêque surmonté d'un heaume à cimier. Revers : Aigle impériale couronnée. Très Beau. (Principality of Liege, Gérard de Groesbeeck, 1564-80, silver rixdaler of 1572, Hasselt mint. Obverse: arms of the bishopric, helmet above. Reverse: crowned imperial eagle. Very fine.)"

This type is recorded in Davenport for 1567-73. It is the most common crown from this state in the sixteenth century.
