Stack's Bowers February 2023 Collector's Choice sale, lot 73153

This specimen was lot 73153 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. 10 Euro, 2011. NGC PROOF-68 Ultra Cameo. Commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the death of Andy Warhol. Quite an impressive colorized coin that is sure to attract serious interest." The SCWC lists 45 different NCLT's issued in the ten euro denomination in 2011 alone, explaining why the major French catalogs do not list them. Coinage above the two euro denomination are legal tender only in the country of issue.

Recorded mintage: est. 10,000 minted, 2,887 sold.
