Sincona sale 63, lot 2659

This specimen was lot 2659 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 19 CHF (about US$24 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"EDELMETALL-AUKTION | FRANCE | Kingdom, 5. Republik, seit 1959. 10 Euro 2012. Monnaie de Paris. Année du dragon. Feingewicht total: 19.98 Gramm. FDC. In Originalschachtel mit Zertifikat. (fifth republic of France, ten euro of 2012, Paris mint, Year of the Dragon. Uncirculated, In original box with certificate.)"

The reverse honors writer Jean de La Fontaine (1621-95), whose Fables recorded many moral tales still known today.

Recorded mintage: 10,000 proofs.
