The specimen shown was lot 124 in Aureo y Calicó sale 242 (Barcelona, March 2012), where it sold for 260 € (about US$404 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
Felipe IV (1621-1665). 1653. Barcelona. 1 croat. Anv.: PHILIP9 D G HISPANIA R. Bella. Escasa así. EBC-/EBC. (Philip IV of Spain, 1621-65, croat of 1653, Barcelona mint, nice, nearly extremely fine.)
The croat, or real, was struck in Barcelona 1626-58 and is not listed as expensive in low grade altho this date is catalogued as better.
