East Germany 1966 10 mark

This issue from the Communist regime of East Germany commemorates the 125th anniversary of the death of painter Karl Friedrich Schinkel. This standard was used for several commemoratives issues 1966-67; those issued 1968-75 were .625 fine and those of 1975-90 were only .500 fine. A number of copper-nickel types were also issued for circulation.

Specification: 17 g, .800 fine silver, .437 troy oz ASW, edge lettered 10 MARK DER DEUTSCHEN NOTEN BANK. The edge lettering was left off a few by mistake; these appear in the SCWC as KM 15.2.

Mintage: 50,000.
