Stack's Bowers May 2023 Collector's Choice sale, lot 71620
SB523-71620r.jpg

This specimen was lot 71620 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2023), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "BURMA. 1/4 Pe, CS 1227 (1865). Mindon. NGC VF-25. Despite some evidence of handling across the surfaces, this quite presentable example delivers much appeal and charm." A pe was half a mu. One kyat = one rupee = five mat = ten mu.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: copper.

Catalog reference: KM-17.
