This type was struck 1962 only, probably at the Philadelphia mint. It matches the module of the United States silver quarter in every respect. The next issue, in 1966, was in copper-nickel clad copper.

Recorded mintage: 4,000,000 + 25 proofs.

Specification: 6.25 g, 0.900 fine silver, 24.3 mm diameter.
