This specimen was lot 565 in Jean Elsen sale 137 (Brussels, June 2018), where it sold for €1,300 (about US$1,809 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"VLAANDEREN, Graafschap, Philips IV (1621-1665), AR dukaton, 1653, Brugge. Op dubbel gewicht geslagen. Vz/ Geharnarst bb. r. Kz/ Gekroond wapenschild gehouden door twee leeuwen. Onderaan het juweel van het Gulden Vlies. Zeer zeldzaam. Zeer Fraai. (county of Flanders, Philip IV, 1621-65, silver ducaton of 1653, Bruges mint, struck in double weight. Obverse: armored bust right; reverse: crowned arms supported by two lions, jewel of the Golden Fleece below. Very rare, very fine.)"
The regular ducaton (Dav-4457) comes up from time to time but this double ducaton is rare despite being struck intermittently 1639-64.
