This specimen was lot 166 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 111 euro (about US$176 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1795. Lima. IJ. 8 reales. Escasa así. EBC-/EBC (eight reales of 1795, Scarce, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1791-1808 for Charles IV and is probably the most common colonial coin of Peru. The SCWC lists a 1795/4 overdate but awards it no premium. Assayer IJ is recorded for 1787-1803.
