This specimen was part of lot 33421 in Heritage sale 3082 (New York, January 2020), which sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bulgaria: People's Republic 7-Piece Certified Proof Set 1979 NGC, 1) Stotinka - PR67 Ultra Cameo; 2) 2 Stotinki - PR67; 3) 5 Stotinki - PR67 Cameo, KM 86; 4) 10 Stotinki - PR67 Ultra Cameo, KM 87; 5) 20 Stotinki - PR67 Ultra Cameo, 6) 50 Stotinki - PR68 Ultra Cameo, 7) Lev - PR66 Ultra Cameo, KM 90. A scarce set that saw a mintage of only 2,000. Admirably preserved, with each included issue certifying gem or better." The two stotinki was the second lowest denomination of Bulgarian coinage and was coined only sporadically during the communist regime. This type was struck 1974, 1979-81, 1988-90 and this is a proof only date, as was all coinage for 1979.

Recorded mintage: 2,000 proofs.

Specification: 2 g, brass, 18 mm diameter.
