This specimen was lot 23312 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $1,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V Specimen 5 Cents 1912H, SP66 PCGS, unlike the 1912 Ceylon 5 Cent in this sale that was also struck at the Heaton Mint, this has the reflective surfaces which one would expect of a Proof. The rarity of this coin is further enhanced by the lack of mint state examples of this date AND type." This type is listed for 1911-19 (all scarce) and 1936. British Honduras is today Belize.

Recorded mintage: 20,000 plus a few proofs.

Specification: copper-nickel.

Catalog reference: KM 16.
