This specimen was part of lot 23051 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), which sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Maundy Set, 1800. 4 pieces in set. Each is well struck with varying degrees of attractive tone. Overall a nice looking set. PCGS MS-62 (2), AU-55 (1), & MS-63 (1) Secure Holders." This type was struck 1795 and 1800 only and, tho not rare, is difficult to find in nice condition. The silver groat, or fourpence, was introduced n medieval times.
Specification: 2.01 g, .925 fine silver.
